Join us

Japanese high schools should refer to the join us page in Japanese, as the application process for Japan is different from that of the UK-based participants.

The UCL-Japan Youth Challenge welcomes pre-university students from UK sixth form colleges (individuals) and Japanese high schools (school groups with their teachers) every year.

Eligibility: pre-university students who have finished Years 11–13 at the time of participation in July.

We may consider international applications (applicants who attend school outside the UK) on a case by case basis only.

NB Our participants from Japanese high schools are in Japanese High School Years 1–3, equivalent to Years 11 and 13 in England.

Each participating Japanese high school selects approximately three participants, plus one teacher/leader.

Applications for 2024 are now closed.

Thank you for all the interest in the UCL-Japan Youth Challenge 2024.

Programme details can be found on the UCL-Japan Youth Challenge 2024 page.
